Operational Resilience In The Energy-Driven Era

Q1. Could you start by giving us a brief overview of your professional background, particularly focusing on your expertise in the industry?

I’ve been working in operations and transformation for over twenty years, mainly in electrical infrastructure, packaging, and biomedical companies. Most of my career has focused on improving operations through Lean manufacturing, enhancing supply chains, and integrating digital tools—especially for power systems and automation. I’ve held leadership positions at companies like Eaton and Rockwell Automation, where I helped improve performance by standardizing processes, enhancing efficiency, and encouraging teams to adopt smarter technologies.

Q2. When selecting power systems or automation solutions, what are the top criteria customers across industries typically prioritize?

Customers want systems that work reliably, can grow with their business, and don’t incur excessive costs over time. Increasingly, they’re also evaluating whether the solution integrates seamlessly with their digital systems, can accurately predict when maintenance is needed, and helps them achieve their environmental goals.

Q3. How is the push for sustainability influencing investment in power quality and monitoring equipment?

Sustainability isn’t just about looking good anymore—it’s driving business decisions. Companies are buying power monitoring equipment because it helps them waste less energy, stay compliant with environmental regulations, and sometimes qualify for green tax breaks. When you have good data on power quality, you avoid unexpected shutdowns, run more efficiently, and make your equipment last longer. It’s good for both the environment and the bottom line.

Q4. How do you see competition playing out between legacy equipment manufacturers and newer, IoT-driven solution providers?

Established manufacturers have advantages—they’re large, their equipment has been tested in the real world for years, and people trust their brands. But they’re scrambling to update their technology. Newer companies often introduce cloud-based platforms that are easier to use and offer better analytics. The companies that will win are those that can combine reliable hardware with user-friendly software—whether they build it themselves or partner with others.

Q5. How are global supply chain challenges and material costs affecting competitive positioning and go-to-market strategies?

Supply chain problems have forced everyone to source materials closer to home, work with multiple suppliers instead of just one, and completely rethink how they price things. Companies that have flexible manufacturing and can monitor their supply chain are performing significantly better. The trick now is to maintain healthy profits while still being able to respond quickly to customers and bring products to market efficiently.

Q6. What emerging opportunities do you see for operational transformation or innovation in your industry?

There are some really exciting developments happening. AI that can predict when equipment will break down, switchgear with built-in modules that can be mixed and matched, and business models where you pay for energy as a service rather than purchasing equipment. There’s also a huge opportunity in connecting distributed energy sources like solar panels and batteries with automation systems that can talk to grid management systems using standard communication protocols.

Q7. If you were an investor looking at companies within the space, what critical question would you pose to their senior management?

I’d ask: “How are you using digital technology to make sure your products will still be relevant in the future while keeping your profits and reliability intact?” That question arises of whether they have a solid plan for innovation, what gives them an edge over competitors, and how well they can adapt when regulations change or customers want something different.
