AI-Compute Fuels Immersive Futures Of AV
Q1. Could you start by giving us a brief overview of your professional background, particularly focusing on your expertise in the industry?
I have been in the Audio-visual and IT/Telecoms industries for over 25 years. My key expertise is in product and go-to-market strategies.
Q2. Is there a material overlap between legacy high-end display client bases and the target accounts for AI-compute or industrial metaverse platforms? In which specific segments would an acquisition by a computing giant provide the most immediate 'cross-sell' revenue uplift?
With the rapid advancement of AI-compute media and content generation (one of the most impressive ones recently is the AI-generated rooftop high-res fight scene between Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise), my personal belief is that there will be a lot of creativity for AI-compute to participate in both 2D, 3D, and multi-dimensional viewer/spectator experience, particularly in the immersive experiential environment.
Q3. In companies serving defense or security-sensitive customers, how material is the risk that ownership changes—particularly cross-border acquisitions—could disrupt existing contracts or future bidding eligibility?
Such cross-border acquisitions will undoubtedly raise concerns among security-sensitive customers. The exact impact will depend on the priority and level of engagement of these security-sensitive customers, and it may boil down to the situation in which these customers need to invest in existing vendors, which we are seeing in the industry.
Q4. Based on your experience, in command centers for government or defense, how do "Sovereign AI" policies change the hardware BOM (Bill of Materials)? Are customers demanding "air-gapped" AI that doesn't call home to a cloud server?
Absolutely, it’s already happening that certain government and defense center infrastructure and equipment settings need to be isolated, not just from AI, but entirely from data-connected externally, and all media is hosted locally.
Q5. While 2026 is being framed as the year the ProAV industry moves to 'data-driven experiences,' can you point to a specific segment where customers are actually paying for a performance-based 'as-a-service' model rather than just a financed hardware purchase?
The Entertainment industry still relies heavily on performance-based visual quality, so these are not just data-driven.
Q6. If you were an investor looking at companies within the space, what critical question would you pose to their senior management?
I would analyze the business and operational health of the particular company in discussion; this can typically be understood if the basic but required due diligence checks are conducted.
