Brewery Yeast Dryer

Handling Brewery Yeast at a brewery is really cumbersome and makes the brewery the most unhygienic place, We designed the latest state of art Yeast dryer plant which makes the brewery clean and hygienic by handling yeast better with our advanced designed yeast dryer. Our Yeast dryer plant is equipped with advanced technological components comprising yeast dewatering equipment, cavity pump, extruder, well mixed fluidized bed dryer with steam heater and exhaust fan.

Drying yeast involves yeast cropping from fermenters to spent yeast tank and then yeast dewatering and then fitered filter beer pumped back to the fermenter and dewater spent yeast send to fluidize bed dryer via extruder then dried powdered yeast in FBD then goes to begging m/c 2 kg, 5jg, 25 kg bags.

Most breweries use hydraulic filter press to dewater brewery yeast. it is a very cumbersome operation and needs manpower to clean, while we made it easy by adopting a belt press which is very convenient and requires less manpower and makes yeast dewatering a continuous operation so it makes ease in the yeast dewatering process.

Brewery yeast is first fed to dewatering equipment with the help of an advanced cavity pump to advance belt press which reduces moisture content up to 70 % and then dewatered semi-solid fed to the center of the chamber by the extruder.

Extruded yeast with the help of extruder is then sprayed into fine beads in the dryer tower where induced hot air from bottom to top of drying tower comes in with contact with high-temperature hot air in tower chamber where water vapour evaporated so further dried it up to 95 % and yeast is dried. At the top of the chamber tower, there is an exhaust fan that takes off humidity. Dried yeast settled at the bottom of the tower in granular form.

Dried yeast is used as a food supplement for poultry farms and fisheries. Not only does it help to reduce COD loading in the effluent treatment plant as a result treatment cost is reduced so less OPEX is required for effluent treatment. As per our experience, the feedback payback period is 2.0- 2.5 years.

Our yeast dryer gives good quality of dried yeast which can assess parameters like moisture content which is less than 5%, particle size.
