Keep these steps in mind during your implementation plan:

• Define short-term KPIs for your supply chain including your vendors. Begin reporting out annual intensity results accompanied by a plan to continuously improve.
• Set long term goals and be considered a low-carbon champion.
• Take a targeted approach, define your high priority spend categories related to carbon intensity and focus on these suppliers relative to their importance to your company.
• Track your results. There are over 600 credit agencies who provide insight into environmental impact of companies though the data may be limited. Leverage what is currently available and work from there.
